Cattle die on Alberta feedlot bankrupted by BSE crisis

CALGARY - A couple hundred cattle died this weekend at a bankrupt Alberta feedlot that had been seized by creditors on Wednesday, deaths attributed to an incorrect mixture of feed and vicious winter weather.
"There's a pile of dead cattle," said Rick Bonnett, 38, who operated Bonnett Farms until its operations were handed to the Calgary office of Deloitte & Touche LLP the court-appointed receiver. Deloitte was operating the lot on behalf of creditors and the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce.
