Canada and the US have recognised Germany as free from foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) and lifted restrictions on imports of meat and dairy products from the country, Reuters reported, citing the German agricultural ministry on Tuesday.

Both countries had introduced these measures after a FMD outbreak at a farm in Brandenburg in January 2025.
