US, Canada, Mexico agree to harmonize BSE strategy

WASHINGTON — Canada, Mexico and the United States have established a harmonized approach to mitigate the risk of BSE. The new agreement is the outcome of a series of meetings that aimed to allow the chief veterinary officers of the countries to develop a science-based framework to normalize trade in ruminants and ruminant products within North America.
