Steps Initiated To Increase Milk Output
T'PURAM - Animal Husbandry Minister C Divakaran has said that the Dairy Development Department has formulated various initiatives such as 'cow village, milk shed development scheme, model dairy farm unit' and 'fodder development project' to increase milk production.

Speaking to reporters here on Thursday, after Kerala Dairy Farmer's Welfare Fund Bill aimed at extending comprehensive assistance programme to dairy farmers was passed by the assembly, he said that 7,500 heads of cattle would be distributed in 500 villages as part of the milk shed development scheme.
Under the fodder scheme, 2,000 hectares of land would be brought under fodder cultivation, he said.
