Jordan reports foot and mouth disease in cattle

According to a recent report from the Paris-based World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH), Jordan reported an outbreak of foot and mouth disease (FMD) in a herd of cattle located in the village of Dhlail.

According to the report, of the 2,442 susceptible animals, 2,342 tested positive and 87 died. Authorities have applied control measures to curb the spread of disease, including zoning, surveillance, quarantine, disinfection and movement control.
