22,000 Alberta ranchers compensated for BSE

The Alberta government released a detailed list Monday of more than 22,000 Alberta ranchers who received $402-million in compensation for the effects of mad cow disease. The federal and provincial governments handed out the funding in payments for nearly one million animals under one federal compensation program for Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE) which ended in 2003.
