State move to enforce cattle tags

AUSTRALIA - Queensland's herd of 10 million cattle will have to be fitted with electronic tracking devices from mid-2007. But the State Government has agreed to a phase-in approach that allows graziers time to adopt new management plans and meet the cost of tagging. From July only cattle moving to a destination other than an abattoir or live export will have to be tagged.
