Canadian Border Should Remain Closed

US - The U.S. Department of Agriculture's plan to reopen the Canadian Border to beef imports is running into serious opposition. The day after a federal judge in Billings, Mont., ordered the border to remain closed, the U.S. Senate passed a measure to overturn the Bush administration's decision to allow cattle imports from Canada to resume. The administration still doesn't get it. The White House reacted to the Senate's resolution, saying the president would veto it because it would damage efforts to persuade other countries to import U.S. beef.
