AHDB explores how the UK's changing consumer landscape will impact the ag sector
As consumer preferences and behaviors continue to change in the UK following the COVID-19 pandemic, the AHDB will take an in-depth look at what that means for UK livestock farmers in a series of webinars.Analysts in the Retail and Consumer Insight team will provide valuable insight into the hot topics facing the red meat and dairy sectors, in three webinars running in October and November.
As well as exploring how the pandemic has affected demand, they will look at how consumer views around reputational factors, such as Buying British, health and the environment as well as animal welfare and trust in the industry, have evolved in the last year.
The webinars kick off on 21 October, with the first focusing on retail, foodservice and consumer trends for red meat and the future opportunities and challenges facing industry.
On 4 November, the second webinar will cover purchase and consumption trends of dairy products, followed by the final webinar on 25 November, which explores the reputational issues across the food industry.
AHDB Senior Consumer Insight Manager Steven Evans said: “Due to COVID-19 and the subsequent lockdown and closure of restaurants and bars, the consumer landscape changed drastically last year, in both retail and foodservice.
“As we return to a more normal environment and restrictions start to ease, we will look at how consumers are reacting to these changes, as well as discuss some of the hot topics across the ever-evolving consumer landscape.”
