Dutch Dairy Giant Opens Viet Nam ‘DairyZone’
VIET NAM – Plans are in place at FrieslandCampina (FC) to add more dairy farms to a pilot sustainable farming zone in Ha Nam province as part of an ongoing project to boost food security in the region. The 66 hectare ‘dairy zone’ has seen Dutch and Vietnamese partner up with the goal of creating jobs and reducing milk imports through a Facility for Sustainable Entrepreneurship and Food Security.
When complete, FC expects the zone to be producing at least seven million kilos of fresh milk per year and employing 345 people.
A spokesperson for FC said: “The plan includes the establishment of eight more dairy farms in the 66-hectare dairy zone by the end of 2018, in addition to the two pilot farms already established.”
