“Dynamic” Mexican Livestock Shipments Rocket 55 Per Cent
MEXICO – International sales of bovine products grossed US$291.3 million, an increase of 55 per cent on the previous year, announces the Mexican government.Gains were driven partly by 40 per cent growth in beef exports, which were $300 million higher, says the Ministry of Agriculture Livestock Rural Development Fisheries and Food (SAGARPA).
Main buyers were the US, Japan, Hong Kong, Canada, Viet Nam, Panama, Angola, Chile and South Korea.
The Ministry puts the growth down to “dynamism” within livestock and the health record the country has achieved.
The figures follow last week's government’s announcement that Mexico's beef industry had cemented its place in the world’s top six. read more
