Careers Centre Available at This Year's Livestock Event

UK - Those looking for a new career in agriculture can get a helping hand at this year's Livestock Event where the Careers Centre will focus on employment opportunities.

The area will include exhibitors from leading colleges and recruitment agencies, together with Careers in Agriculture, a platform for 11 presentations including ‘a day in the life of’ to help guide visitors, and in particular students, on the wide range of jobs within the sector.

RABDF’s newly launched Entrepreneurs in Dairying business training programme with mentoring will be discussed along with a further two sessions focusing on how to stay professional on social media, and the do’s and don’ts of writing a CV. A separate clinic will offer visitors one to one consultancy advice on how to brush up on their CV.

“The livestock sector offers hugely rewarding opportunities not only for the current, but the next generation,” comments Nick Everington, chief executive of the event organiser, the Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers. “The Careers Centre is designed to enable visitors to find out more about the skills and resources required, together with the dedication, enthusiasm and tenacity that is essential for success in the agricultural sector.”
