Dairy Exports Up in Tonnage But Down in Value

AUSTRALIA – Year to date June dairy exports grew in volume but were worth less to the economy, Dairy Australia’s export summary has said.

Volume lifted 4.7 per cent with butter, milk and cheese being the biggest growers, rising 17.3 per cent, 16.5 per cent and 11.6 per cent respectively.

Mixtures, SMP and cheddar cheese also reported smaller rises in volume.

Volume falls were reported for whole milk powder and butter oil.
