Nut and Dairy Go Undeclared on Labelling

CANADA – Consumers with nut and dairy allergies are being warned about the consumption of Berry Chocolate Hearts after hazelnuts and milk were found in mislabelled Riverbend Plantation Inc. products.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Riverbend Plantation Inc. issued the warning after illnesses were reported by consumers who had ingested the products.

The following packages numbers were distributed through the Saskatchewan province under the lot number 212.

To people with allergies consumption of the items could cause serious and life threatening reactions.

The manufacturer responsible, Riverbend Plantation Inc., Saskatoon, is voluntarily recalling the affected products from the marketplace. The CFIA are monitoring the recalling process.
