Anthrax Case Encourages Vaccination

01 November 2012

KAZAKHSTAN - One cow has been confirmed dead in the Taldy Kurgan region of Kazakhstan due to Anthrax.

Although usually a soil-bourne infection, there are concerns that this outbreak may have come through swill feed.

A number of animals in the local vicinity have now been vaccinated, including 1,172 cattle.

The infected property has been disinfected.
