New Bluetongue Vaccination Requirements Approved
SPAIN - The Cabinet has approved a Royal Decree amending the current regulations for specific measures to combat and eradicate bluetongue.
The amendments are intended to permit the use of inactivated vaccines outside the restricted areas of the disease.
The development of inactivated vaccines and the consequent disappearance of the risk referred to, has enabled the introduction of the new changes to properly take advantage of one of the most effective weapons in the fight against the disease.
The possibility of using live vaccines, but only within the restricted area, will be maintained.
