Dairy Australia Increases R&D Funding
AUSTRALIA - Dairy Australia has increased funding to its eight Regional Development Programs (RDPs)by 10 per cent for the next financial year.

The extra funding will give the RDPs more room to run projects and initiatives which address specific local issues.
The RDPs are – Dairy NSW (Far South Coast, South Coast and Highlands, the Hunter, Wagga and Forbes and the Mid Coast), DairySA (South Australia), DairyTas (Tasmania), GippsDairy (Gippsland), Murray Dairy (northern Victoria and southern Riverina), Subtropical Dairy (far north and south east Queensland and northern NSW), Western Dairy (Western Australia) and WestVic Dairy (western Victoria).
“The RDPs are integral to Dairy Australia’s success in ensuring we can effectively meet the needs of farmers in each of the regions,” Dairy Australia Managing Director Ian Halliday said.
“These groups direct research and development concepts from farmers to Dairy Australia to ensure projects are developed to help improve the productivity, profitability, business capability, long-term sustainability and on-farm employment of local dairy farms.”
The funding increase will take effect on July 1.
