Anthrax Outbreak in Lesotho

LESOTHO - There have been 18 cases of anthrax in cattle in Lesotho, a country surrounded by South Africa.

Anthrax has also been identified in horses and dogs.

The source of the outbreak is unknown. The affected district Berea is in a known anthrax belt of Lesotho, but the disease has not been reported in the area for the past 10 years.

All infected animals have died.
