Domestic Milk Intake Down 12.2% in January

IRELAND - Domestic milk intake by creameries and pasteurisers was estimated as 128.8 million litres for January 2012.

Compared to January 2011, skimmed and semi-skimmed milk sales increased by 4.1 per cent to 15.1 million litres, according to the latest Irish Milk Statistics.

Butter production was down 7.5 per cent to 3,700 tonnes.
