Over 160,000 Cattle Immunised In Namibe

ANGOLA - At least 162.646 cattle were vaccinated by the Veterinary Services of Namibe province, during a vaccination campaign in 2011.

AllAfrica reports that according to the Provincial Director of Veterinary Services, Daniel Samo, in the same period of 2010 139,416 cattle were immunised. 2011 therefore saw an increase of 77 per cent.

For the successful campaign in 2011, he said that five brigades were set up in five main districts, namely Namibe, Virei, Bibala, Kamucuio and Tômbwa.

The animals were vaccinated against anthrax (external and internal), contagious perypneumony and nodular acne.
