In the past 12 and four -week periods volume sales continued to increase at rates of 2.3 per cent YOY and 2.7 per cent YOY respectively.

Value sales of liquid milk declined 3.2 per cent YOY, however the past 12-week period saw a value sales increase of two per cent YOY, this growth rate accelerated to 3.2 per cent YOY over the past four weeks.

This has been influenced by the fact that comparison periods are now including the multi-purchase promotion activity initiated by the retailers last year, and in current weeks some of these have now been removed.

The largest segment within the liquid milk market is Pasteurised milk recording a 84.8 per cent volume share and a 81.8 per cent value share over past 52-week period.

Volume sales of Pasteurised milk increased 4.4 per cent YOY, while value sales have declined 3.5 per cent YOY due to the lower average price per litre YOY.
