World Dairy Expo: Supreme Champions Named

US - Alberta cow reigns supreme champion and Illinois cow wins junior Supreme champion at the World Dairy Expo, Madison, Wisconsin.

The Grand Champion Holstein, Eastside Lewisdale Gold Missy, paraded across the colored shavings to win Supreme Champion honours.

Missy is owned by Morsan, Van Ruinen Dairy, M Butz and G Andreasen. The cow is sired by Braedale Goldwyn.

Supreme Champion Cow is awarded the Gregory Blaska Memorial Trophy. The Supreme Champion receives a $1,500 Cash Award from BouMatic, a royal blanket courtesy of Agpro, Paris, Texas and a director’s chair sponsored by Royal Brand Embroidery, Ellsworth, Wisconsin.

The Reserve Champion title was earned by the Grand Champion Jersey, Pine Haven SSM Marmie, owned by Nic, Jeni, Ben and Andy Sauder of Tremont, Illinois.

Marmie is sired by Select-Scott Minister-ET and is a Four-Year-Old Cow. The Reserve Champion was awarded $1,000 from Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, Saint Joseph, Missouri; a royal blanket courtesy of NuPulse, McFarland, Wisconsin and a director’s chair courtesy of Royal Brand Embroidery of Ellsworth, Wisconsin.

For the third year in a row, Ben Sauder of Tremont, Illinois has exhibited the Junior Supreme Champion award.

Sauder’s Jersey Junior Three-Year-Old Cow, South Mountain Voltage Spice-ET is sired by Golden Elliott Voltage. Supreme Champion of the Junior Show receives a $1,000 Cash Award courtesy of BouMatic. A royal blanket courtesy of Select Sires,Plain City, Ohio and a director’s chair sponsored by Royal Brand Embroidery of Ellsworth, Wisconsin were also awarded.

Britney Hill of Bristol, VT won the Reserve Supreme Champion of the Junior Show with her Red and White Four-Year-Old Cow, Ainger Advent Jessa-Red who is sired by KHW Kite Advent-Red.

Reserve Supreme Champion of the Junior Show will receive a $500 Cash Award courtesy of Udder Comfort. Ameriprint of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin sponsored the royal blanket. A director’s chair was presented in memory of Nelson Rehder, courtesy of Maple Lawn Farm, Tom Lyon Family, Westfield, Wisconsin.
