Commenting on the publication of “Guidance on the application of date marks to food”, Dairy UK Director General Jim Begg said “Dairy UK was pleased to have helped Defra and WRAP produce this guidance. As a sector, the dairy industry takes its environmental responsibilities very seriously and reducing food wastage is therefore high on our agenda.”

“Dairy UK is also well advanced, in co-operation with WRAP, in producing supportive labelling and storage guidance specific to milk and dairy products, which we hope will not only help to reduce food wastage in the dairy sector, but which other food sectors will be able to use as a model for their own initiatives.”
