NLIS Tags For Cattle: Why It's Time To Change

12 April 2011

AUSTRALIA - In a landmark deal announced this month, the Western Australian Farmers Federation (Inc) (WAFarmers) has entered a supply arrangement with National Livestock Identification (NLIS) tag distribution company Datamars.

WAFarmers members are now able to purchase NLIS Tough Tags and visual tags for cattle via head office, and WAFarmers will communicate new product development and trialling for all species.

Datamars sell a range of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) products worldwide, including boluses, round tags, triangular tags and implants.

WAFarmers President Mike Norton said that WAFarmers will make a margin on sales of electronic and conventional ear tags which helps towards servicing member needs.

“This is a win-win for members, the organisation and the Industry as a whole,” said Mr Norton.
