Dairy Farmer Leaders Convene For DFA Conference
US - Despite blustery winter weather, approximately 200 dairy farmers and industry leaders gathered last week for the Dairy Farmers of America, Inc. (DFA) 2011 Mideast Area Leadership Conference in Fairlawn, Ohio. In Fairlawn, attendees networked with fellow dairy farmers from the Mideast Area and talked about issues impacting the dairy industry. The conference featured presentations about economic and commodity volatility, the market outlook and National Milk Producers Federation’s Foundation for the Future plan.
“The knowledge and ideas being shared at this leadership conference provide invaluable benefits to DFA members and our Cooperative,” said Tom Croner, chairman of DFA’s Mideast Area Council. “This business is all about relationships. These events allow members to take home new industry and Cooperative information and share it with DFA members in their local districts, which is the true spirit of DFA’s grassroots structure.”
Highlights of the event included the opportunity to tour Eastern Laboratory Services (ELS) and the Mideast Area office, and take part in a tradeshow featuring several of the DFA Farm Services available to members. DFA’s management team also provided updates on the global industry, ELS and Cooperative business.
