Four New FMD Outbreaks in Mozambique
MOZAMBIQUE - The country's veterinary authorities have reported four new outbreaks of foot and mouth disease in the country.The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) received follow-up report no. 2 on Friday, 12 November. According to the report, all outbreaks took place in Gaza.
A total of 211 cases were identified, while 5970 animals showed signs of susceptibility to the disease.
Introduction of new live animals and illegal movement of animals have been identified as the main sources of the outbreak.
