'Moovies' Showcase Dairy Farming To The Public

11 November 2010

UK - Four British dairy farmers are showing their farming systems to the public in a series of “moovies” on dairy farming website,

The moovies show year-round housing, robotic milking, grass-based and organic dairy farming systems.

DairyCo has made the films for its consumer facing website which was launched earlier in the year to provide the public with factual information about dairy farming.

Neil Baker looks after around 1,000 cows that are housed year-round and his film gives audiences a full tour of his farm so that they can get a complete picture of what that farming system is like.

Mr Baker says: “Lots of people want to know more about how the food they buy is produced, but may not know where to go to find out. Hopefully the video will give people a glimpse of the work we do to care for our cows and farmland.”

The farms featured in the moovies are based in Lancashire, Somerset, Gloucestershire and Cornwall, so if you farm in these areas visit the website and see if you can spot one of your neighbours!
