Corn and Soybean Growers Share On-Farm Research
US - Corn and soybean growers are invited to attend the Nebraska Soybean and Feed Grains Profitability Project on-farm research update March 9 at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Agricultural Research and Development Center near Mead.

The 9 a.m.-3 p.m. program will be at the August N. Christenson Research and Education Building.
Producers will obtain valuable crop production-related information from on-farm research projects conducted on Nebraska farms by Nebraska farmers.
The Nebraska Soybean and Feed Grains Profitability Project is an on-farm research project designed to provide farm operators with an understanding of how to conduct crop research on their farms using their own machinery. Comparisons are scientifically designed, statistically analyzed and conducted for three years to assure reliable, useful information.
The luncheon speaker is Dan Manternach of Doane Advisory Services who will present via interactive video conference. He will discuss "The 2010 Outlook for Costs and Returns in Corn, Wheat and Soybeans and the 'Big Picture' for Agriculture the Next 2-3 Years."
Manternach is ag services director for Doane Advisory Services with more than 32 years of experience in ag price forecasting and risk management counsel. He serves as editor of the weekly Doane's Agricultural Report, the Doane Strategic Planning Quarterly, the monthly Farming for Profit newsletter for ag banks and other quarterly publications Doane does on custom content agreements with third party firms. He's also involved in management and marketing of Doane's Web site.
Manternach grew up on a diversified grain and livestock farm in Jones County, Iowa and graduated from Iowa State University. He also has been an adjunct instructor in futures and options trading at the University of Northern Iowa.
Registration is $50 for non-NSFGPP members and includes a copy of the annual on-farm research report, refreshments and noon luncheon. Pre-registration is encouraged by March 3.
