No Bluetongue in the Netherlands

NETHERLANDS - The results of the tests conducted on a young bull on a farm in Aalten (Gelderland)in the Netherlands for Bluetongue have proved negative.

The result means that Bluetongue has not been found in the Netherlands this year, according to an official report from the Dutch Agriculture Ministry.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality (LNV) had issued an announcement that bluetongue was found in Aalten and only the type of the disease had to be established by the Central Veterinary Institute (CVI).

However, now the ministry said that the tests proved negative in new samples taken from both the bull its mother.
