Bluetongue Is Set to Return

UK - Bluetongue looks set to return to our shores this summer, and unless farmers vaccinate as soon as possible, it will spread far wider and far quicker than before and could devastate farm businesses.

The warning comes from a Dutch vet and farmer who have travelled around the UK this week to tell of their experiences and warn farmers what they can expect to see over the coming months.

“It’s going to come back,” said vet Marco Verhoef. “And in the second year it spreads quickly – up to 10km a day – and you can expect a similar pattern in the UK this year.
