Board members from the new company, which has replaced the Milk Development Council, will be at a farmer meeting in St Neot near Liskeard on Wednesday 30 April.

Although a technical event, concentrating on breeding the right cow for different farming systems, there will be an opportunity for levy payers to talk to the board members informally and find out more about new initiatives to be unveiled later in the year. These include the long-awaited mastitis control plan and a revolutionary feeding campaign.

The meeting kicks off at 11am at St Neot village hall with Marco Winters DairyCo breeding+ director on the importance of bull selection in making the best breeding decisions.

Andrew Kent from the village’s Polventon Farm will also give a presentation on how crossbreeding has made a positive impact on his farm. Lunch will be followed by a visit to Andrew and his brother Graham’s farm to look at how crossbreeding works in practice and the outcome of different crosses.
