Milk Price Hike From Dairy Farmers of Britain

UK - Dairy Farmers of Britain is set to increase the amount it pays its suppliers for liquid milk from next month.

Today they announced a member milk price increase of 2.3 ppl effective from September 1, 2007.

This price increase will take DFB’s standard litre B&W price to more than 21ppl* and takes the total price increase to +4ppl since April.

Commenting on the announcement, Chief Executive, Andrew Cooksey, said: “This price increase reflects our commitment to pass back to our members as soon as possible the increased returns we are receiving from the market.

“We are focused on achieving further price increases from all market sectors to ensure that we achieve appropriate returns for our members’ milk and as a broadbased business we are in an excellent position to deliver positive price progression in the coming months.”
