First Milk Delivers 2ppl Price Increase

UK - First Milk will increase the core milk price it pays to its members by 2ppl from 1 September 2007.

As a result of this increase, First Milk’s standard litre price increases to 20.6ppl. The co-op’s marginal price for September increases to 28ppl.

First Milk members in the Scottish Highlands and Islands area will see their standard litre price increase to 21.9ppl, while their marginal price for September moves up to 29.5ppl.

Peter Humphreys, chief executive of First Milk commented:

“Our farmer members deserve a sustainable and profitable milk price which reflects the current strong market conditions. In this dynamic environment, our flexibility is key and we are in a strong position to continue to move our milk price upwards.”
