SA Dairy Group Supports Use Of GM Feed

AUSTRALIA - The South Australian Dairyfarmers Association says it supports a national decision permitting farmers to give their cows genetically modified feed.

The decision comes on the back of similar agreement from Victoria's peak body.

Although acknowleding the pro-choice position may give tacit support to the GM industry, SADA says the final decision on whether or not dairy farmers can use GM pastures lies with processors.

Companies like Warrnambool Cheese and Butter have yet to say whether they will accept milk from cows grazed on GM pastures.

And Mount Gambier Dairy farmer James Mann says there is no rush from farmers to to use the technology:
