AUSTRALIA - Western Australian dairy farmers are furious over National Foods' decision to truck milk from South Australia across the Nullabor.

National Foods says it has been forced to because of milk shortages due to the drought.

But dairy farmer John Guimelli claims the decision is driven by corporate greed.

He is blaming the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), for allowing farmers' bargaining powers to be diminished since industry deregulation.

"The ACCC when they were approached by our industry to set up a negotiating body, the comment from Grahame Samuel, their chairman, was 'oh we couldn't do that, it would give the farmers too much power'," he said.
