Taiwan banned dairy cattle imports from Australia for 20 years but has opened its doors under a free trade agreement.

The exported cattle included high-value breeding stock from north east Victoria.

A spokesman for Austrade in Taiwan, Jeff Turner, says demand for dairy food and quality breeding stock in Asia is increasing rapidly.

"So we expect to see quite a few more, so it's like 210 head have come in successfully," he said.
