Romania – Albalact’s Results in 2006
ROMANIA - The Albalact dairy producer in Romania reports that its turnover in 2006 totalled EUR29.1 million, as compared with EUR16.8 million the previous year, according to SeeNews. The company’s net profit last year was EUR1.3 million, as against EUR850,000 in 2005. All these figures are preliminary ones.
Albalact said that its good results in 2006 exceeded company expectations, and were mainly due to the success of the Zuzu brand, which unites 23 different dairy products. Investments in product advertising were worth EUR1.3 million last year, with advertising expenditure to increase this year.
Albalact’s shareholders approved in late January a share capital increase of RON10.9 million (EUR3.2 million) to raise finance for the opening of a new plant. The facility will open in the middle of this year and will be subject to investment worth nearly EUR8 million.
