USDA finds 'tangled web' in mad cow. Investigators seeking birth herd, feed source

WASHINGTON - With luck, federal investigators will know "in a day or two" the herd of origin of a Holstein cow that tested positive for mad-cow disease earlier this month, a Department of Agriculture official said Friday.
