Focusing on Making Progress with Your Dairy During Challenging Times, the convention committee has secured several top-notch speakers, including Gary Sipiorski, President of Citizens Bank in Loyal, Wisconsin; Gary Heckman, Executive Director of the PA Center for Dairy Excellence; and Dr. Mark Armfelt from Monsanto.

Coinciding with the day meeting, a line up of youth activities will offer something for everyone in the family. While youth will be invited to attend any speaker sessions of their interest, the convention will feature the Maryland Junior Dairyman Contest with cash prizes; and an ice cream social.

Also arranged for the day is a tour of Mason Dixon Farms in Gettysburg, PA. This tour will highlight the dairy farm’s robotic milkers, a history of the farm and a stop at their visitor center. Space is limited. If you are interested in joining the tour, please note this on your registration, or by calling Debra Spurrier at 301-473-7522.

Rounding out the day’s events will be a dinner honoring a Dairy Shrine inductee; distinguished youth; Junior Dairyman youth contest awards; silent auction winners and a live auction with items such as a $500 credit toward an embryo transfer flush by Mid-Maryland Dairy Veterinarians, a hand-painted cookie jar by Esther Gross “The Artistic Farmer” featuring all the dairy breeds, a painted saw blade and many other creative items.
