Only producers in twelve counties declared eligible for disaster assistance through the federal Livestock Assistance Grant Program should apply. Those areas include Ashland, Barron, Bayfield, Burnett, Douglas, Iron, Polk, Price, Rusk, Sawyer, Taylor and Washburn.

The USDA allocated $575,062 to Wisconsin in order to help partially recover forage production losses due to certain drought conditions in 2006. Funding for this program will be allocated to owners of mature beef cattle, mature sheep, mature grazing dairy cattle, mature bison, mature elk or mature deer.
