Milk rate hiked from today

INDIA - Shimoga Cooperative Dairy Farmers Societies Federation has hiked the milk purchasing rate by Rs 1 per liter, said its president H B Martanda. Speaking to reporters here, he said that revised rate will be implemented from December 15.

According to the revised rate, milk per liter will be purchased from dairy farmers by paying Rs 10.20. Milk will be purchased from societies by paying Rs 10.50. Full Cream Milk will be purchased by paying Rs 18, he said.

Federation had maintained balance in milk rate for last three years. Price will be decided on the basis of quality milk in forthcoming days. Dairy farmers should maintain quality, he advised.

Shimoga, Chitradurga and Davanagere districts come under the Federation. Totally 699 dairy farmers cooperative societies working in these districts. Federation is committed to provide quality milk, he said.
