Indiana Dairy farmers have issued suggestions for enjoying the holidays without going overboard. Julie Harden, Nutrition Consultant with Milk Promotion Services of Indiana (MPSI), said the key is moderation.

“We are not asking you to diet but just take smaller portion sizes when enjoying your favorite holiday foods,” Hardin told Hoosier Ag Today. She also suggested eating a slight snack before you attend a holiday party to curb your hunger while at the event.

“If you are hosting a party, put the healthy foods at at the front of the line and the sweets at the end,” she said. She also suggested using a yogurt dip with fresh vegetables for a party snack.
