US Delegation to Visit Korea over Mad Cow

KOREA - A delegation from the United States will visit South Korea next week to discuss U.S. beef safety with Korean government officials, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF) said on Sunday.
The delegation, led by Dr. Lester Crawford, U.S. Food and Drug Administration deputy commissioner, will explain scientific and trade implications of the first confirmed U.S. case of bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE), or mad cow disease, and its efforts to prevent further spread to Korea, according to a FDA press release.
