Mad-Cow Worries May Force Change in Rules for Feed

WASHINGTON - The Bush administration, under pressure to further reduce the risk of mad-cow disease, is preparing to tighten rules on animal feed, as well as human food and dietary supplements, Monday's Wall Street Journal reported.
The moves by the Food and Drug Administration are likely to close several loopholes that might allow potentially contaminated materials derived from cattle to be fed back to cattle and other livestock, according to people with knowledge of the matter.
