Ontario delivers $74 M to BSE-stricken ranchers

TORONTO — The Ontario government is spending $74 million to cushion the blow of Canada's mad cow crisis and to help the province's farmers adjust to a new generation of farm safety nets, Premier Dalton McGuinty said Wednesday.
The money includes $10 million to provide new markets for Canadian beef shut out of the U.S. market and to pay for a cull/animal strategy.
