100 dead cows discovered on Alberta ranch

CALGARY - SPCA officials found 100 dead cows on an Alberta farm and seized another 100 that weren't being fed and watered properly in a case federal Agriculture Minister Bob Speller called "a tragedy" Friday.
The case hasn't yet been linked to a cash crunch caused by the BSE crisis, as well as years of drought and a rising Canadian dollar, but Speller said there are programs available to help troubled producers.
