U.S. Certification List Multiplies For Beef Exports To Mexico

US - At the beginning of the week, only two U.S. plants had been certified to export beef to Mexico under a new government-to-government agreement that partially opened the border, but now the list has more than tripled and is expected to keep growing.
Nine U.S. plants, including five owned by Excel Corp., two by Swift & Co., one by Tyson Fresh Meats Inc., and one by National Beef Packing Co. LLC., are now eligible to begin shipping boneless beef from cattle under 30 months of age to Mexico, according to a growing list maintained by the USDA.
