Peter Kamuroni, the Kapchorwa Civil Society Association Chairman, was quoted by Daily Monitor on Monday as saying the talks will seek a solution to cattle rustling, which has lasted for four decades.

"We want to involve top Sabiny and Pokot leaders in this peace process to allow mutual co-existence," Kamuroni said at the launch of cross-border leaders' peace consultative meeting at Suam border.

He said the negotiation process is initiated to build confidence of leaders at different levels in the Sabiny-Pokot communities for the purpose of attaining peace.

The meeting was attended by MPs, government officials, district councilors, paramount chiefs and community leaders from Sebei sub- region in eastern Uganda and West Pokot in western Kenya, the regions over the years have been carrying out counter cattle raids.
