Grant for pilot system to convert dairy waste into energy

NEW ZEALAND - A Massey University scientist says dairy farmers could do themselves and the environment a favour by converting the waste from their milking sheds into energy.

A research team from Massey and AgResearch is using a $197,000 innovation grant from Dairy Insight to develop an effective way of collecting methane gas from effluent ponds and using it to generate heat and electricity.
