A report commissioned by Meat and Livestock Australia has found that often productivity is low and stocking rates and the quality of grazing country are poor.

The report makes recommendations on how to improve the future for the 30 or so stations in the region owned and operated by Indigenous interests.

The PGA's Sandy McTaggart says he is fully supportive of any programs that will help the stations become economically viable.
